Three-Runway System 10km International Race

Have you ever imagined setting foot on an airport runway, or even running on one? The “Three-Runway System 10km International Race”, co-sponsored by Airport Authority Hong Kong and Standard Chartered Hong Kong, and organised by Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates, will be held on 17 November. This unique event will take place on the airport’s Centre Runway, offering participants a once-in-a-lifetime experience to race on the runway before the airport officially transitions to a #ThreeRunwaySystem. 26 years ago, the “Standard Chartered ’98 New Airport Marathon” also set the finishing point on HKIA’s runway. The upcoming event marks the second time the airport has had a race on its runway. As the special edition of Standard Chartered HK Marathon, the race will feature competitions in 10km, 5km, 3km and 10km wheelchair categories, with a quota of about 12,000.
